Red Hook Brewery president arrested for DUI
Gerald Prial (nickname Jerry Prial), age 52, President of Red Hook Brewery Portsmouth, NH was arrested on January 17th, at 1:15 am. Jerry has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a police stop as he drove into his home located at 143 Love Lane, Rye, NH.
If convicted and, if Jerry Prial is a first offender there is no jail time in New Hampshire. If he is a repeat offender he could face jail time with a maximum of 1 year and up to $2000 fine.
It is unknown at this time if the police did in fact revoke his driver's license. If revoked, this would put Jerry Prial in violation of the law as he still continues to drive ever day. The Rye, NH police department could not be reached for comment.
With Jerry Prial's position and high paying salary ($165,375 $20,000 bonus & car allowance of $850 month) you can be sure he will hire a good lawyer and the charges will be contested. Please contact the Portsmouth district attorney and Rye police dept. and urge them to set an example and not to be lax with this alcohol icon.
Ironically Jerry Prial regularly hosts the New Hampshire Liquor Commission bartender training on the dangers of over serving, drinking and driving.
Mr. Prial also promotes his Red Hook and Widmer beers to underage drinkers by use of not one, not two, but four beer video games on its web site at www.redhook.com and www.widmer.com One Red Hook game involves mountain biking and beer. Another beer game involves Widmer and allows you to drive a truck, which you cant, help but crash into buildings, and other cars.
Breweries such as Red Hook (partly owned by Anheuser-Busch) should refrain from marketing practices that have substantial underage appeal. Please contact state officials and media to ensure this public figure of the alcohol industry does not receive special treatment in the courts, change his ways by not promoting alcohol to minors and publicly reminds people that drinking and driving is dangerous and sometimes fatal.

Good. That guy is a jerk.
I have no opinion on this guy. As clarification though, in NH you don't get your license taken away right away. He will likely lose it for 90 days, based on a hearing scheduled soon after the arrest.
Putting the governors info up there is ridiculous.
Great work.
